Medical Office Assistant (Floating Receptionist)
ExamWorks – Santa Jose, CA
$24/hr. Monday through Friday, some Saturdays may be required. 9am to 5:30pm.
Travel to surrounding clinics less than 25%. Paid travel time and mileage reimbursement.
Responsibilities
Route examinee to exam room, vitals room and/or x-ray room as needed.
Review chart and verify examinee information is available for examining physician.
Prepare examinee for examination by performing and recording height and weight.
When necessary, chaperone examinations with female examinees or as requested by physician.
Responsible for set-up, maintenance, and cleanliness of exam rooms. Report any issues or maintenance needs to management.
Maintain a smooth flow of examinations to ensure appointments are kept on schedule.
Secure patient information and maintain patient confidentiality by completing and safeguarding medical records.
Ensure all practices are carried out in accordance with state and federal safety and legal regulations.
Perform clerical duties such as typing, filing, emailing, and proofreading as required.
Promote effective and efficient utilization of clinical resources and supplies.
Participate in various educational and/or training activities as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Reliable transportation for travel.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
A minimum of 1-2 years on the job experience in a medical office or related field preferred.
Must have adequate knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, medications and laboratory values.
Must possess complete knowledge of general computer, fax, copier, scanner, and telephone.
Must be knowledgeable of multiple software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and the Internet.
Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
