Job Summary We are seeking a friendly and compassionate Cardiology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team. As a Cardiology Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive care to patients with heart-related conditions. Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including physical examinations, medical histories, and diagnostic tests
Collaborate with cardiologists to develop and implement treatment plans for patients with cardiovascular conditions
Administer medications, monitor patient responses, and adjust treatment plans as necessary
Conduct cardiac stress tests, electrocardiograms (EKGs), and other diagnostic procedures
Educate patients and their families about cardiovascular health, preventive measures, and the importance of medication adherence
Provide counseling and emotional support to patients and their families
Medication Management: NPs/PAs ensure residents receive the appropriate medications, monitor for side effects, and adjust dosages as needed
Chronic Disease Management: They provide ongoing care for residents with chronic conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, and dementia
Wound Care: NPs/PAs are skilled in wound assessment and treatment
Fall Prevention: They identify residents at risk for falls and implement strategies to reduce fall incidents
Knowledge of CMS Regulations and NCQA HEDIS Guidelines
Document accurate medical records to ensure compliance with OSHA and government regulations
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team
Analyze and organize the care of critically complex patients
Requirements
Minimum
6 months of experience in long-term care or a skilled nursing facility
Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Physician license
DEA License
CPR BCLS/BLS certified
Must hold a Master\'s Degree in Nursing
Completed a degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
Reliable transportation
Must be willing to travel to different nursing homes across North Texas
Preferred experience in cardiology: training provided
Preferred experience in documenting EMR (Sigma, Visual, PCC, etc.): training provided
Must have strong organizational and time management skills
Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds and stand/walk/work up to 6-8 hours per day
