Summary Job Title: Cardiac Electrophysiology Nurse Practitioner
Location: Newark Beth Israel Medical Center Arrhythmia Center NJEP
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Cardiac Electrophysiology Nurse Practitioner to join our growing Arrhythmia Center at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cardiology and, preferably, direct experience in electrophysiology, including cardiac device management.
This role involves working closely with a team of cardiac electrophysiologists while also functioning independently to deliver high-quality patient care in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
Key Responsibilities
Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with arrhythmias in inpatient and outpatient settings
Conduct pre-admission testing and provide pre- and post-procedure education for EP procedures
Perform cardiac implantable electronic device or CIED interrogations and manage remote device monitoring
Monitor and interpret EKGs, cardiac event monitoring, and related cardiac diagnostic data
Develop and implement patient-centered treatment plans in collaboration with the electrophysiologist and cardiology team
Manage medications related to cardiac arrhythmia care
Provide education and support to patients and families regarding cardiac conditions, procedures, and device care
Stay current with advancements in electrophysiology through continuing education
Provide support to physicians, medical assistants, and the EP care team to ensure seamless coordination of care
Participate in weekend and on-call coverage as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program
Current New Jersey NP license in good standing
Current BLS and ACLS certification
Cardiology experience required; Electrophysiology experience strongly preferred
Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and patient education skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and function independently when needed
