Overview
We are seeking an
Industrial Engineer
to join our team at
Bridgestone Americas , located in Aiken, SC.
The Industrial Engineer role focuses on optimizing the interconnected components of a manufacturing system (e.g., plant location, personnel workflow/ergonomics, materials logistics, production process sequence, and equipment layouts) to establish methods, processes and tools that provide production, cost and productivity controls and manufacturing management best practices for optimization.
The position requires practical knowledge of the job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. You will lead projects with diverse scope, while working independently with general supervision and may influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies, and practices.
The selected professional will be expected to deliver feasible solutions and proposals to provoke, facilitate and achieve improvements in productivity, including optimal utilization of human capital resources across manufacturing processes and areas of responsibility. You will collaborate with other teams to sustain and further improve resource usage.
This role will drive continuous improvement through Gemba time studies and data analytics, translating insights into Kaizen initiatives and the development of state-of-the-art and breakthrough technologies. These efforts will support the plant's cost efficiency and productivity in the short, mid, and long term across assigned areas and departments.
Responsibilities
Lead projects or processes of diverse scope, working independently with limited supervision to pursue productivity, sustainability and continuous improvement.
Establish methods for optimum utilization of production facilities and personnel.
Monitor, report, and act on opportunities to optimize hours usage and control the areas under responsibility.
Conduct cost, inventory, and production control and human factors studies to develop and implement plans for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods.
Assist manufacturing plant/facilities engineers with facility planning and design.
Support safety and quality programs and help manage production operations training for plant personnel when needed.
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to maintain relationships.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience.
Experience in database management tools is a plus, such as advanced MS software, Power BI, Tableau, and experience in any programming language.
