Moss's Solar Electrical Field Project Engineers are responsible for assisting the Electrical Assistant and Electrical Project Manager in the administrative and technical management of large utility-scale Solar projects. They assist in supervising all activities related to contract administration, change orders, submittals, procurement, and scheduling. A positive attitude and behavior are necessary as you will interact with staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in project start-up by reviewing owner contracts, developing startup checklists and site utilization plans, coordinating mobilization, selecting subcontractors and vendors, identifying critical issues and milestones, finalizing Prolog setup, participating in construction schedule development, and orienting subcontractors. Expedite materials by developing submittal logs, establishing fabrication and delivery schedules, confirming material deliveries, conducting submittal/SD review, reviewing coordination drawings, monitoring off-site material storage, coordinating owner-furnished materials, and verifying fabrication status. Coordinate construction activities by collaborating with the Superintendent, conducting subcontractor pre-construction meetings, maintaining activity logs, updating schedules, performing quality control inspections, verifying field installations, ensuring safety compliance, coordinating material storage, attending daily and site meetings, maintaining material expediting logs, coordinating with user groups, and assisting with agency inspections. Facilitate project administration by expediting subcontractor and vendor agreements, assisting with insurance and bond documentation, preparing meeting agendas and minutes, managing check-hold lists, maintaining jobsite files, processing progress photos, assisting with status reports, coordinating with project staff, maintaining Prolog, generating correspondence, administering RFI processes, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Track project costs by processing subcontractor and vendor pay requests, assisting with owner payments, tracking subcontractor back charges, and updating labor cost reports. Support management for the change order process by creating change requests, reviewing scope changes, determining schedule impacts, issuing owner notifications, expediting subcontractor and vendor pricing, preparing cost proposals, and negotiating proposal costs. Perform other duties as assigned. Education and Work Experience
Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related discipline Six months to one-year minimum Solar internship or full-time experience as a project engineer or assistant project engineer in the construction industry Strong computer skills, including familiarity with construction project management applications Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interface directly with owners' representatives, the A/E team, building departments, and other team members Basic finance skills JOB TITLE:
