Overview
Test Engineer I – Early Career & New Graduate Rotation (2026 Starts) at Blue Origin. The role offers two pathways for full-time employment: Direct Hire or New Graduate Rotation Program. The rotation program includes three four-month rotations across multiple business units and mentors to determine best team fit for your ongoing career.

Pathways
Direct Hire: Multiple positions across business units. You will be matched with a engineering team based on your skills and our needs.
New Graduate Rotation Program: One-year development with hands-on experience and mentorship across New Shepard, New Glenn, Blue Engines, Lunar Permanence, In-Space Systems, Advanced Concepts and Enterprise Engineering, and Operations. Upon completion, you’ll work with the Program Manager to determine the best team fit.
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
Design, analysis, and operation of test systems for testing fluid, propulsion, mechanical and electronic systems, integrating safety, manufacturing, operations, materials and processes, instrumentation, test control systems, and systems engineering.
Analyze test data to support requirements verification tasks.
Direct integration of hardware into test facilities.
Conduct test planning, risk assessments, evaluation, mitigations, test setup, execution, post-test data review, and performance analysis.
Develop test support software and equipment to improve test frequency and quality.
Identify, scope, and resolve test-related problems.
Qualifications
B.S. degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, or similar discipline (graduated within the last year; eligible to start by Fall 2026).
Experience with a testing environment and executing test procedures; relevant internship/co-op or hands-on experience demonstrating technical growth and leadership.
Ability to earn trust, foster inclusive relationships, work independently and in teams on rapid development programs; flexible and adaptable mindset; self-driven with initiative to gather requirements.
Desired
Advanced degree in mechanical, aerospace, electrical engineering or similar.
Software familiarity: LabVIEW, AutoCAD P&ID, Winplot, Windchill, Creo.
Experience with hazard and risk analysis.
How To Prepare
Experience in aerospace is not required. We value broad academic and industry experiences. Include internship, co-curricular and research experience in your resume, and list relevant programming languages used in these settings. If not used in a professional setting, include relevant coursework that demonstrates preparation for these roles.
Compensation and Benefits
Compensation ranges: California $78,943.00–$110,519.85; Washington $78,943.00–$110,519.85.
Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, parental leave, disability, 401(k) with company match up to 5%, and Education Support Program.
Paid time off: Up to four weeks per year plus up to 14 company-paid holidays; discretionary bonus based on contributions and company results.

Export control: U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or as otherwise allowed by U.S. law.
Background checks: Standard Blue Origin background check; additional checks may apply for roles requiring on-military installations or other conditions.
Other requirements: may include Merchant Mariner Credential or other regulatory requirements where applicable.
