Maag is a worldwide supplier and leading manufacturer of plastic processing equipment and complete processing systems for the plastics industry.
Responsibilities
Provide highest quality electrical design of control systems on the Maag family of equipment.
Act as the electrical PLC representative for the customer’s controls equipment.
Support quality, accident prevention and occupational safety, and environmental safety within scope of responsibility.
Perform tasks requested by management that relate to position scope or arise from company needs.
Qualifications
Thorough knowledge of engineering and manufacturing practices and methodologies.
In-depth understanding of 3-phase motor controls, Allen Bradley, Siemens PLC’s, programming and HMI screen design, and related products.
Ability to read and understand motor control ladder logic drawings. Motor control design ability, along with valve control, relays, timers and related control equipment.
Strong knowledge of Siemens and Allen Bradley controls.
MS Office experience is a plus; MS Excel experience is a must.
Ability to work effectively with networking and internet devices is a plus.
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering / Technology, or a related field of education, or relevant experience is required.
Some travel to customer facilities to assist in startups is expected at times.
Work Environment Generally, electrical engineers/programmers work in a plant setting. One of their main tools include a computer with proprietary software to create and modify their programs. The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration, hot equipment, hot and cold weather conditions. The noise level can be loud and PPE may be required.
Physical Requirements
Regularly required to talk or hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, sitting, and climbing.
Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Education
College graduate with Electrical Engineering Bachelor’s degree or relevant job experience.
Training on logic circuits, electric motors, gears / mechanical devices.
Able to read and explain manufacturing drawing, schematics and piping and instrumentation diagrams.
