State of Connecticut . The DEEP Marine Fisheries Program is recruiting for Seasonal Resource Assistants (SRAs) to work on various projects based out of DEEP Marine Headquarters in Old Lyme, CT. Projects include: American Shad & Sturgeon Project Long Island Sound Trawl Survey Project Commercial Fisheries Statistics Project Marine Angler Survey Project Research Vessel John Dempsey Position details: Up to 40 hours/week, Monday - Friday, some weekends/evenings required. Not to exceed 1,030 hours total. Must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver's license. Selection process involves an interview, completion of employment paperwork, background check, and mandatory training. Responsibilities vary by project, including sampling, data collection, gear maintenance, public outreach, and vessel maintenance. Preferred qualifications include experience in biological sciences, fisheries, boat handling, fish identification, data management, and mechanical skills.
