Enrollment Manager

The Enrollment Manager plays a pivotal role in the growth and success of Portland Waldorf School by overseeing and leading all aspects of the school's enrollment management process. This position requires a dynamic and strategic leader who can collaborate with various stakeholders to attract, admit, and retain a diverse and qualified student body.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Develop comprehensive admissions and retention strategies to meet PWS’s strategic enrollment goals of full enrollment in three years •Serve as a compelling outward-facing ambassador for the school, thoughtfully building relationships with inquiring parents, feeder and other local schools, and counterparts at other independent schools; articulate the mission of PWS in a knowledgeable, professional, and positive way •Manage the enrollment process from initial contact to onboarding, including: responding to inquiries; scheduling and conducting tours, interviews, and school visits; planning and hosting open houses; attending school fairs and class meetings; following up with applicants as needed until the admissions process has completed •Use an analytic, data-driven approach to guide admissions efforts, including: keeping detailed records of all interactions; producing and presenting monthly reports to Leadership; and researching admissions and outreach trends for independent schools nationwide and manage department budget •Collaborate with faculty and staff in all sections to learn details of curriculum offerings in each grade/class, new programs, electives, clubs, activities, camps, before/aftercare, school events, field trips, performances, presentations, etc. in order to relay the most current and relevant information to our community •Lead the marketing committee to develop and implement the school’s strategic marketing plan, including publishing the weekly bulletin, monthly newsletter, website updates, social media posts, and advertisements •Manage enrollment department staff, consultants/vendors, and volunteers, including high school student ambassadors Preferred Qualifications: ·Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and life experience •Three years’ experience in an independent school Enrollment office, preferably in a Waldorf school •Confident public speaker and presenter; outstanding organizational and presentation skills; exceptional writing and oral communication skills; excellent time management skills; detail and goal oriented; strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with all the various school’s constituencies, such as prospective families, current families, alumni and alumni families, faculty/staff, leadership, Board, local community, feeder schools, local area Waldorf schools •A commitment to ongoing professional development and networking in the realm of independent school enrollment; Waldorf curriculum and pedagogy; and DEI •Highly resourceful and motivated – a “self-starter” with welcoming energy, enthusiasm, and exemplary work ethic •Fluency with Google applications and enrollment database systems (Blackbaud) ·Ability to work evenings and weekends for meetings and events as needed This is a full-time, year-round, exempt position with a salary range between $52,000-$63,440, depending on education and experience.
