The Director of Women’s Services is responsible for providing leadership, strategic planning, and operational oversight for the labor and delivery, postpartum, nurseries, and other women’s health services departments. This role drives quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and interdisciplinary collaboration to deliver high-quality patient care. The Director focuses on patient safety, resource optimization, and staff professional development, aligning departmental goals with the organization’s mission and vision. Essential Functions
Oversees daily operations of women’s services departments, including staffing, resource allocation, safety, and quality. Develops and implements departmental goals and objectives aligned with the organization’s strategic vision. Ensures compliance with regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and best practices in women’s health care. Leads quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety, clinical outcomes, and patient satisfaction. Prepares and manages the departmental budget, monitoring expenses and implementing cost-saving measures while maintaining care standards. Recruits, trains, and mentors staff, fostering continuing education and professional development opportunities. Collaborates with providers, surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other stakeholders to improve interdisciplinary communication and patient care. Develops and enforces policies and procedures for women’s services, ensuring alignment with organizational standards. Responds to and resolves patient care issues, complaints, and incidents, implementing corrective actions as needed. Maintains current knowledge of industry trends, clinical best practices, and healthcare regulations to ensure the department remains competitive and compliant. Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field required Master’s Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred 5-7 years of clinical nursing experience in women’s services required 2-4 years of progressive nursing leadership experience, including women’s services required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Strong understanding of Labor and Delivery, Post-Partum, Nursery and other Women’s Services practices and technology. Ability to assess data, prioritize care, and plan interventions, and to educate patients appropriate to the population served. Strong leadership with organizational, communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills. Ability to analyze data and use metrics to drive decision-making and improvements. Ability to delegate and support teams, and evaluate situations to improve work processes. Excellent human relations, oral and written communications skills, and ability to meet customer needs. Ability to partner with customers, peers, and others; promotes the company’s purpose and values diversity. Licenses and Certifications
