UNC, Chapel Hill, North Carolina, United States, 27517
Overview
The School of Social Work (SSW) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for a position as the Secondary Education Program Manager for the Public Service Leadership Program funded by 'The Workforce is Here: How to Support Thriving Communities and Healthy North Carolina Children, Individuals, Families, and Elders via Social Work Interventions and Research' grant program. This initiative plans to develop and offer a statewide, three-tiered public service certificate for both pre‑service students at the high school, community college/undergraduate and masters levels and in‑service practitioners currently employed in public sector social work settings. The purpose of these certifications is to spark interest in pursuing public sector career opportunities and, for those already engaged in the social work workforce, to add a credential to enable career advancement and acquisition and competency of advanced skills. Each certificate will encompass a core set of common elements: a degree and/or curriculum enhancement to leverage foundational instruction; a tuition‑free credential, with curriculum development and instructional costs incurred and covered through the initiative; emphasis on direct service; content focused on North Carolina's critical service delivery areas; a virtual delivery model to enhance accessibility; and a co‑instruction model of university faculty, agency professionals, and individuals with lived experiences. Responsibilities
The PSLP Assistant Director for Enrollment and Operations will establish and lead the implementation of the PSLP's admissions policies and programs for up to 1,000 prospective pre‑service and in‑service program participants annually, while also providing day‑to‑day supervision and management of the PSLP's recruitment and technology support staff. This position will manage and oversee all PSLP marketing and recruitment processes and provide leadership in the collection, scoring and acceptance of PSLP applicants. The Assistant Director for Enrollment and Operations will chair the Recruitment and Career Pipeline Workgroup and also support both the Public Education and Marketing and Evaluation and Sustainability workgroups. The PSLP Assistant Director for Enrollment and Operations will report to the Assistant Dean for Workforce Development and will work closely with other PSLP Program Leads and Program Managers to develop, launch and implement the program's admissions criteria for enrolling in the multi‑level certificate programs. With the ultimate goal of enrolling 500 pre‑service students and 500 in‑service practitioners, this position will also be responsible for managing the day‑to‑day operations for the PSLP; overseeing the development of marketing materials for the PSLP pre‑service and in‑service certificate programs in NC Social Work Coalition school partners; serve as primary point of contact for continuing education licensure and certification for all PSLP in‑person training events and support compliance; provide leadership and oversight of business services projects, policies and promising practices that support the development of PSLP curriculum materials; and monitoring program metrics and data that will be used to inform PSLP program evaluation reports and outcomes. This position will also be responsible for recruiting, hiring and supervising PSLP Recruitment Coordinators (full‑time; up to 2), other full‑time PSLP staff, and contracted communications and operations staff. Location
