Job Title : PSLP Assistant Director for Enrollment and Operations – School of Social Work, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
Location : Chapel Hill, North Carolina
Salary : $84,240 – $90,000 per year
Proposed Start Date : 12/01/2025
Travel : Up to 25% in-state travel to human services organizations and partner universities; additional travel may include national conferences.
Position Summary
The School of Social Work (SSW) invites applications for the PSLP Assistant Director for Enrollment and Operations. This role will establish and lead the implementation of the Public Service Leadership Program’s admissions policies and programs for up to 1,000 prospective pre‑service and in‑service participants annually. The Director will manage day‑to‑day operations, supervise recruitment and technology support staff, oversee marketing and recruitment processes, chair the Recruitment and Career Pipeline Workgroup, and support the Public Education and Marketing and Evaluation and Sustainability workgroups. The Director will report to the Assistant Dean for Workforce Development, work closely with PSLP Program Leads, and coordinate with partner schools to develop, launch, and implement the program’s admissions criteria. The Director will also recruit, hire, and supervise PSLP Recruitment Coordinators, staff, and contracted communications and operations staff, and monitor program metrics and data for evaluation reports and outcomes. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Relevant post‑Baccalaureate degree required. For candidates demonstrating comparable independent research productivity or comparable background in independent academic or instructional activities, a relevant Bachelor’s degree and three or more years of relevant experience in substitution may be accepted. Required Qualifications
Professional experience implementing systemic well‑being and resilience programs within public‑serving social work/human services programs. Experience in curriculum development, training, and/or workforce development for helping professionals within the five critical service domains (child welfare, mental/behavioral health, developmental disabilities, adult/aging, justice‑involved populations). Proficiency in online learning platforms and digital tools for virtual program delivery (Zoom, Teams, Mentimeter, BigBlueButton). Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Demonstrated clinical supervision experience involving practicum students and/or early career practitioners. Strong organizational, communication, collaboration, and project management skills. Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in social work, human services, public administration, psychology, public health, education, or related field. Experience using implementation science tools and strategies. Experience using data to evaluate program effectiveness and to develop continuous improvement/strategic action plans. Ability to work independently and collaboratively without immediate direct supervision. Ability to manage conflict and communicate effectively with diverse workforce populations, stakeholders, and settings. Experience with negotiation, implementation, and oversight of projects within the scope of work. Experience with performance management, workplan development, and supervision. Experience with budget compliance and fiscal management of contracts and/or grants. Eligibility
