ARM Energy’s Midstream team is seeking qualified candidates for a
Project Controls Analyst – Capital Projects
based out of our Houston office.
Position Overview
The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of AFE budgets, cash flow reporting, budgeting, tracking of spend, along with strong communications skills. This role will act as a liaison between Engineering/Operations and Accounting for preparing monthly cost reports and assist with preparation of requisitions and purchase orders.
Primary Responsibilities
Develop and manage AFE budgets and cash flow reports for projects greater than $1B US.
Run monthly cost reports for the Operations team to track actual spend as compared to budget for all cost codes.
Develop and run monthly cost reports for all AFE’s and update Forecast Cost Report to track spending against proposed budget and cash flow forecast.
Reconcile any issues with the monthly reports with project stakeholders.
Prepare requisitions and validate coding for all orders prior to submitting to accounting.
Verify MSA’s are active and in good standing prior to submitting any work orders.
Verify all invoices are coded correctly prior to submitting for approval.
Ensure that Work Orders and Purchase Orders have enough remaining funds to pay invoices prior to submitting for approval.
Verify all invoices and orders are routed properly against the Delegation of Authority.
Work with Project Managers to verify invoices are for the correct amount and work has been completed or received.
Reconcile any issues with invoices, Purchase Orders or Work Orders with the vendors.
Prepare new MSA requests.
Reconcile all orders prior to closing an AFE.
Assist in the annual Opex budgeting process.
Provide In Service notifications and Project Close Out documentation.
Maintain documentation for all monthly reports, Purchase Orders and Work Orders.
Assist with the overall execution of large-scale capital projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or related field from an accredited university.
Minimum 10 years’ experience in Cost Controls or Purchasing.
Experience developing and managing AFEs for projects greater than $1B US.
Possess basic computer skills and proficient in MS Office applications.
Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
Ability to interface effectively with multiple groups inside the organization.
Ability to prioritize and respond to multiple requests from several sources.
Ability to work with or without direct supervision and alone or as part of a team.
Ability to work within a small entrepreneurial team environment and help the organization achieve on‑time / on‑budget results.
Fluent in English, oral and written required.
Ability to effectively communicate and interface with customers.
Ability to accept changes and quickly align resources to effect outcomes.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
