Overview
Global Physical Security Data Analytics & Reporting Specialist role at CyrusOne. This position supports the Global Physical Security Organization by enhancing operational efficiency through data-driven insights and vendor management. The role analyzes diverse security data sources and develops and maintains detailed reports and interactive dashboards using Power BI, Smartsheet, and SharePoint to summarize critical security metrics for timely, informed decision-making. Responsibilities
Data Analytics and Reporting
Analyze Physical Security Data: Examine security-related data from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform workload allocation, enhance security measures, align with budgetary needs, and meet customer expectations. Develop Comprehensive Reports and Dashboards: Create and maintain detailed reports and visual dashboards for stakeholders, summarizing critical security metrics (e.g., incident response times, access control breaches, risk assessments) and KPIs to facilitate informed decision-making. Collaborate with Security Teams: Work with cross-functional teams to refine data collection processes, ensuring accuracy and integrity across all reporting platforms and tools. Define and Oversee KPIs: Contribute to defining KPIs and metrics essential for assessing organizational performance, monitoring risks, and ensuring security objectives are met. Produce Trend Analysis: Generate trend analyses to support strategic initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and potential risks to enhance overall security posture.
Vendor Performance Management
Evaluate Vendor Relationships: Assist in managing relationships with security vendors and service providers to ensure alignment with organizational goals and quality standards. Support Vendor Selection: Conduct market research and comparative analysis of vendor proposals to select reliable, cost-effective security solutions. Monitor Vendor Performance: Evaluate vendor performance against SLAs to ensure compliance and address issues promptly. Contract Negotiation: Assist in negotiations regarding scope, terms, SLAs, and pricing with vendors, collaborating with internal teams. RFP Management: Provide support throughout bidding and selection for security vendors, including preparing bid packages and onboarding. Bid Evaluation: Participate in evaluating vendor proposals to ensure they meet operational requirements and standards. Document Findings: Compile and present findings to stakeholders for informed decision-making based on analyses.
Procurement and Product Selection
Collaborate with Internal Teams: Work with departments to identify and select products and services that enhance operational efficiency. Develop Sourcing Strategies: Create strategies for acquiring materials and services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely delivery. Conduct Cost-Benefit Analyses: Evaluate potential purchases to ensure optimal value and alignment with needs. Stay Informed on Industry Trends: Maintain knowledge of security industry trends, technologies, and best practices to inform procurement decisions.
Budget Support and Tracking
Cost Analysis and Budget Management: Perform cost analyses and track expenditures to align projects with financial goals. Budget Development Support: Assist in developing and managing budgets for physical security initiatives. Lead POs and Invoice Review: Lead purchase orders and review invoices to ensure accuracy with orders and deliveries. Monitor Expenditures: Track expenditures and provide insights for adjustments as needed. Review Financial Reports and Forecasts: Assist in reviewing reports to support strategic planning. Forecasting Techniques: Apply forecasting methods to anticipate future security needs and align budgeting. Financial Analyses: Perform ongoing analyses to assess ROI on security technology expenditures and identify optimization opportunities for data center operations.
Global Security Data Policy and Procedures Support
Policy Backups: Support and back up Global Security Data policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and consistency within departmental SLOs. Best Practices Adherence: Monitor adherence to data handling and reporting best practices. Tools and Libraries Maintenance: Oversee maintenance of reporting tools, document libraries, and the services and equipment catalog.
Qualifications
3+ years in data analytics, vendor management, or related roles. Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, Smartsheet). Experience in vendor management and contract negotiation processes. Excellent communication and presentation skills for conveying complex information clearly. Familiarity with budgeting and financial management principles. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. May require occasional travel to vendor offices and operational sites. Experience in the security or data center industry is preferred. Education / Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field. Certifications in security management (e.g., CPP, PSP) or data analytics (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate) are a plus.
