Overview
Young Adult Navigator - Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP) role at FrontLine Service. Under general supervision of the Family Young Adult & Rapid Rehousing department, the navigator provides individualized client-driven support to young adults (18-24) experiencing housing instability or homelessness to meet immediate needs and help identify and maintain safe, appropriate housing without a stay in a shelter whenever possible. For those who enter literal homelessness, the navigator works with enrolled participants and continuum of care (CoC) partners to chart a rapid pathway out of shelter and into safe permanent housing. The navigator assists participants with determining program and housing eligibility, program enrollment, housing coordination with local Public Housing Authorities and other community housing organizations, and engagement with private landlords. Individual choice is upheld during participation in the housing process.
Responsibilities
Provide individualized, client-driven support to young adults (18-24) experiencing housing instability or homelessness.
Assist with determining program eligibility, enrollment, and housing coordination with local Public Housing Authorities and other housing entities.
Engage with private landlords to expand housing opportunities; advocate for participant housing preferences and choices.
Collaborate with enrolled participants and CoC partners to develop rapid pathways from shelter to permanent housing when applicable.
Work collaboratively with other Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program agencies.
Schedule and Compensation Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:30 – 5:00 pm
Employment type:
Non-exempt, union position

$19.00 per hour

Qualifications Required:
Bachelor’s degree with specialization in social, behavioral, or human services, with at least one year of professionally supervised work in mental health, chemical dependency, and/or social services. Lived experience of homelessness and/or housing instability and/or embodiment of diverse identities of young adults who experience homelessness in Cuyahoga County served (including, but not limited to, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and Young Adult).
