The Urban Transit Districts/Paratransit Unit is seeking candidates with skills in data management, organization, and oral and written communication. This unit is responsible for managing and overseeing funding for the Urban Transit Districts and CTtransit paratransit services under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The Planning/Data Analysis Unit is seeking candidates with oral and written communication skills and experience in data analysis, research, and stakeholder coordination. This unit supports the Bureau through transit planning, mapping, data collection, reporting and analysis—including submissions to the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) National Transit Database (NTD)—conducting transit studies, managing customer surveys, and developing programs such as the Bus Stop Enhancement Program. Responsibilities
Project Management: Assisting and participating in various transit studies, ensuring compliance with federal and/or state requirements, monitoring timelines, reviewing budgets, managing data, and processing invoices. Program Coordination and Support: Preparing PowerPoint presentations, scheduling and preparing for meetings, communicating with stakeholders, organizing spreadsheets, researching documents, and writing reports. Stakeholder Coordination: Working closely with CTtransit branded service providers and independent transit districts regarding planning initiatives, service operations, and financial/performance data. Knowledge, Skill, and Ability
Oral and written communication skills; Ability to acquire knowledge and skills required for the target classification; understand, evaluate and solve problems by exercising judgement and logic; read, interpret and understand written material; perform basic arithmetical computations; interpret charts, graphs and tables; learn and reason; establish and maintain cooperative relations with superiors, associates and general public; utilize computer software. Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must be able to meet the experience and training requirements of the designated job class at the completion of the development program. Preferred Qualifications
Possession of a Bachelor's degree in one of the following or closely associated concentrations: Urban and Regional Planning, Urban and Community Studies, Geography, History, Sociology, Anthropology, Economics, English, Applied Mathematics, or Data Analytics. Experience with developing technical and written reports. Experience analyzing complex documents and data, deriving insights, formulating conclusions, and communicating results. Experience with Microsoft Office, ESRI ArcGIS, graphic design and/or related software. Experience working collaboratively within a team, with other technical disciplines, and with external groups or stakeholders.
