Branch Regional Operations Manager

Summary This position is responsible for all operational functions and sales support leadership of the branches within the assigned region of Erlanger, KY; Cincinnati, OH; Dayton, OH; and Columbus, OH. The BROM must ensure that customer care, inside sales, and sales support functions are provided at the highest level, while maintaining 100% compliance with FTI policies, procedures, and guidelines. The BROM directly manages Branch Operations Managers (BOM) in the region and partners with the Branch Regional Sales Manager (BRSM) to achieve strategic goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure operating units, customer care, inventory, and accounts receivable are managed according to company policies.
Implement consistent standard operating procedures that align with sales strategy and update regularly.
Utilize effective interpersonal communication and leadership skills in the employee selection, discipline, and performance management process.
Hire and train high-performing customer care and operations teams.
Conduct periodic training with staff as needed.
Maintain expenses within the budget, review and approve payments, analyze monthly statements/reports, and develop processes to keep expenses within budget.
Overall responsibility for maintaining branch equipment and facilities, including capital requests and vendor quoting.
Develop and support sales functions, including walk‑in customer relationships, upselling, add‑on selling techniques, and post‑sales follow‑up activities.
Oversee inventory management function in the region, including cycle counts, inventory accuracy, full physical inventories, warehouse stocking profile, returns to vendor, sample policy enforcement, write‑offs, and discontinued inventory process.
Review and recover freight spend in the assigned region.
Ensure proper warehouse safety procedures are followed.
Maintain OSHA files with BOM in the region.
Handle purchasing functions, including receiving from NDC and non‑FTI vendors, branch transfers, and backorder review.
Oversee credit functions and develop action plans with BOM as needed.
Manage human resource functions, including positive work environment, hiring, interviewing, overtime needs, and budget.
Encourage and create strategic customer/vendor events with BRSM.
Proactively support the sales team, including travel to events and regional sales programs.
Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and/or 5+ years of operations management experience required.
Direct report management experience required.
Proactive, driven leader who consistently demonstrates results through action.
Previous experience developing and managing yearly budgets.
Collaborative leader with excellent communication skills.
High level of attention to detail.
Ability to connect with customers at all levels and adapt quickly to their needs.
Proficient in Word, Outlook, and Excel.
SAP experience a plus.
Comprehensive knowledge of all Florida Tile products.
Ability to perform all functions in the warehouse when needed, including forklift, pallet jack, and lifting up to 50 pounds repetitively.
Ability to meet deadlines and schedules with little supervision.
Travel within region and events/tradeshows as needed (travel ~25‑30%).
Flooring or tile industry experience a plus.
Sales experience a plus.
