LHH is seeking a Liaison Coordinator
on behalf of a confidential defense contractor supporting Department of Defense programs at Naval Base Point Mugu near Camarillo, CA. This is a full-time, onsite opportunity for a bilingual professional (Japanese–English) to support cross-cultural coordination and stakeholder engagement. Responsibilities
Participate in coordination meetings, customer calls, courtesy visits, and operational planning sessions
Maintain proactive dialogue with Japanese counterparts to identify risks, promote cultural awareness, and recommend mitigation strategies
Advise U.S. Government representatives on Japanese cultural and business practices to enhance collaboration and communication
Act as a coordination focal point during onsite events, aligning expectations and routing inquiries
Provide bilingual brief-backs summarizing program progress and decisions
Produce concise Records of Decision (RODs) for coordinator-led sessions
Support travel coordination for CONUS/OCONUS meetings and operational events
Qualifications
5+ years of bilateral coordination experience
Professional proficiency in Japanese and English (speaking, reading, writing)
Proven success advising senior stakeholders in cross-cultural environments
Experience supporting technical and cultural liaison efforts in service-focused programs
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Japanese and English versions)
Preferred Experience
Familiarity with DoD/FMS programs and test & evaluation environments
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business, International Relations, Communication, or a relevant discipline
Substitution: 6 years of relevant experience may replace a bachelor’s degree; 4 years with an associate degree
Additional Requirements
Active DoD Secret Clearance (or ability to obtain one)
Must be able to work onsite and support occasional travel
Compensation Annual salary range:
$80,000 – $120,000 , based on qualifications, experience, and location.
