Full-Time / Exempt About Us: Harry Pepper provides mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) construction to institutional and government organizations. We are a design-build contractor with extensive BIM and LEED expertise, as well as specialty experience working on complex marine, pump station, and water and wastewater projects. Position Summary: The Project Superintendent is responsible for field operations on the project(s) assigned in order to achieve timely and profitable completion of each project. The Superintendent directly supervises field labor force, including laborers/craft workers. This position must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational and time management skills, as well as have strong communication and client service skills. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Responsible for the safety of all assigned employees and subcontractors to ensure the safe execution of all activities, including the strict adherence to HPA safety policies and programs through the communication and enforcement of HPA Safety and Health Program, including the ability to independently stop work for a safety violation or suspected safety violation. Direct day-to-day on-site supervision of field labor force. Inspection of Contractor or Subcontract operations to ensure compliance with Contract. Review and approve Trade Contractor Payment Applications with Project Manager. Maintain good relationship with internal and external clients, including representatives of Owner and Architect/Engineer. Develop and maintain site logistics plan, in coordination with Project Manager. Conduct quality inspections. Coordinate site testing and inspection efforts. Monitor costs, including labor time and material. Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-Free Environment through own actions and mentoring others. Manage schedules, including preparation of detailed short-term schedules and ensuring all activities take place on or ahead of Schedule dates. Prepare and submit Superintendent Daily Reports. Attend and participate in project meetings, including subcontractor meetings. POSITION REQUIREMENTS/PREFERRED EXPERIENCE 15+ years of experience in the construction industry. Experience must include working on large scale Water Treatment/Wastewater, Pump Station Construction projects and Mechanical/Heavy Civil experience. Familiarity with requirements of drawings and specifications and with terms and conditions of Project Contracts, Subcontracts and Purchase Orders. Familiar with grading, drainage, paving (asphalt and concrete), bridge construction, retaining walls, plumbing, electrical and mechanical, and all other pump station construction scopes. Estimating skills a plus. Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented. Delegates work appropriately. Junior College or Vocational education desired. OSHA certification. First Aid/CPR certification. Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office products. E-Builder, eCMS and/or RMS experience is preferred. Procore, Prolog, Bluebeam and Autodesk Revit experience preferred.
