The Strategic Sourcing Analyst role is responsible for completion of sourcing activities related to New Product Development and Current Product in assigned commodity space in alignment with the Global Commodity Manager (if applicable). This role also independently develops, implements and drives Category/Sub Category as well as Supplier Strategies for non-globally driven categories. The Strategic Sourcing Analyst is responsible for the commercial performance of the assigned category regionally for new and existing products/part numbers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the execution of all procurement activities for all parts within assigned category and suppliers for new and existing parts, including but not limited to
Responsible for the development and execution of the Regional Category Strategy for commodities not supported by a Global Category Manager (competitive landscape, market overview, etc.) Supports Global Category Strategy with regional market information and leads tactical execution of the Global Category Strategy where applicable
Risk analysis related to supplier and overall strategy (Eg: financial, geo-political, capacity, etc.), communicates as part of supplier selection process and as it relates to supply continuity in current production
Analysis of purchase volumes within category to drive supplier consolidation, cost reduction, product portfolio/supplier capability efficiency
Understand current and future technologies and productions methods within assigned commodity, drive communication internally/externally
Supplier evaluation, onboarding, offboarding
Leads negotiating, implementing and tactical execution of all commercial contracts (Master Supplier Agreement (MSA), Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA), Quality Agreements, Scope of Work (SOW etc)
Quoting:
Manage quoting and negotiations for Piece Price and Tooling Cost, Price changes, Savings Projects, Engineering changes
Globally benchmark regional Current products for landed cost optimization, strategy development, market research
Globally quote all New Product Development (NPD) parts and tooling to support supplier selection to support project timing
Level setting quote information to engineering requirements in order to drive sourcing direction to optimal supply solution (Cost, Quality, Timing)
In depth understanding of Detailed Cost Breakdowns and Should Cost calculations, uses this information to drive cost reductions with suppliers
Use of Landed Total Cost of Ownership Models for Series production material to drive supplier selection, cost reductions
Leads supplier selection process for both Global and Regional strategies on both current product and New Product Development components
Ensure adequate capacity at the selected supplier and be point of escalation for capacity issues during series production
Considers inventory level and collaborate with Planning/Scheduling for appropriate commercial solutions including but not limited to Inco Terms, MOQs, Lead Time levers, etc.
Preparation of quote comparison/summary, outline options, gain cross-functional alignment on proposed path, and facilitate presentation of proposed direction to the SNC (Supplier Nomination Committee)
Current Product
Manage Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) communication to and implementation with supplier
Manage cost reduction projects with suppliers, engineering, and quality
Manage all price updates
Support End of Life product phase out (last time buy discussions, commercial liability, etc)
Invoice resolution
New Product Development (NPD)
Manage quoting and negotiations for Piece Price and Tooling Cost, Price changes, Savings Projects, Engineering changes
Supplier Timeline management of critical components
Issue/manage PO’s for pre-production parts and tooling to support New Product Development projects
Support PPAP activities with suppliers and Supplier Quality Engineers
Communicate status, risk, timing to cross-functional project team
Interacts cross-functionally with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain/Planning, Accounting, Project Management, Logistics to support business needs
Acts as primary relationship manger between Wacker Neuson and suppliers within assigned commodity. Point of escalation for supplier related activities for Planning/Scheduling, Operations, Engineering, Quality, Warranty to drive appropriate supplier engagement and issue resolution
Has a continuous improvement mindset and supports group initiatives.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or related business program is required.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a procurement/sourcing role within a manufacturing environment is required, Seven (7) years of experience is preferred.
Experience with ERP system within and manufacturing environment and an understanding of the planning and execution process in the system is required.
Excellent verbal, written and public speaking skills.
Demonstrated results through negotiation.
Strong conflict resolution and problem solving skills.
Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Ability to travel up to 25%, including globally on short notice.

APICS certification
Prior use of SAP
Understanding/Experience with PPAP
