Overview
Texas Oncology, part of the US Oncology Network, is seeking a Patient Services Coordinator to support the Medical Oncology Department at our 191 Walls Drive clinic in Cleburne, Texas. This full‑time position works Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The role may be Level 1, 2, or Sr based on relevant experience.
What does the Patient Services Coordinator do? The coordinator greets patients, registers appointments, screens calls, and supports the US Oncology Compliance Program.
Responsibilities
Greets patients and visitors and checks them in.
Collects, proofs, and files patient forms and updates demographics and insurance information.
Answers, screens, and responds to routine questions, routes to appropriate personnel, and takes thorough messages.
Check patients out after examination, schedules returning appointments, and provides appointment details.
Records cancellations and missed appointments, reschedules appointments, and notifies staff.
Provides general administrative support by filing charts and forms and maintains a neat lobby area.
Adheres to confidentiality, HIPAA laws and guidelines.
Other duties as requested or assigned.
Qualifications
Level 1: High‑school diploma required; some receptionist experience preferred; proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel required; must complete e‑learning courses within 90 days.
Level 2 (includes Level 1 requirements): At least 18 months front medical office receptionist experience with insurance forms and scheduling software; knowledge of practice personnel and daily routines a plus.
Level Sr (includes Level 1 and 2 requirements): At least 5 years front medical office receptionist experience with insurance forms and scheduling software.
Physical Demands The position requires regular sitting and use of hands and fingers. Occasionally the employee stands, walks, and reaches with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Requires normal vision and hearing.
Work Environment Frequent interaction with patients and staff in a clinic setting.
