Overview
Patient Service Coordinator (Senior) – Maryland Oncology Hematology – Texas Oncology Radiation Oncology Department, Dallas, Texas.
Full‑time, Monday‑Friday 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Provides frontline patient support, appointment scheduling, and administrative services in a high‑volume oncology setting.
Responsibilities
Greets patients and visitors in a courteous, professional manner and informs clinical staff of patient arrival.
Documents patient demographics, insurance, and medical information; updates system records and processes co‑pays and balances, providing receipts.
Answers, screens, and routes routine patient questions; records cancellations and reschedules appointments; pages clinic personnel as needed.
Schedules and verifies patient appointments, ensuring accurate appointment details are provided to patients.
Maintains lobby area and office supplies; files charts and documents; preserves confidentiality under HIPAA and state/federal regulations.
Provides general administrative support, including filing, chart management, and supply coordination.
Other duties as requested or assigned; no more than five high‑level duties.
Qualifications Level 1 – Basic
High school diploma or equivalent.
Some receptionist or office experience preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Must complete required e‑learning courses within 90 days of starting position.
Level 2 – Intermediate
At least eighteen (18) months front medical office receptionist experience with insurance forms and scheduling software.
Knowledge of daily routines and scheduling software a plus.
Level Sr – Advanced
At least five (5) years front medical office receptionist experience with insurance forms and scheduling software.
Physical Demands: Sit regularly; lift up to 30 pounds; vision and hearing corrected to normal ranges. Work requires frequent interaction with patients and staff.
