UC Davis Health . Under general supervision, this position will provide technical knowledge and/or coordinates and monitors the delivery of radiological services for adult and pediatric outpatients. The incumbent operates various types of x-ray equipment, Dexa equipment, and auxiliary equipment to provide diagnostic images for diagnostic interpretations by a radiologist. Quality of work performed is approved or reviewed by the quality control technologist, chief technologist or radiologist. The Radiologic Technologist will comply with department protocols, UCDH Policies and Procedures, Department of Radiology Policies and Procedures and other applicable work rules and regulations. The technologist must act with initiative and responsibility to achieve maximum imaging quality and interact with radiologists, clinicians and peers in a cooperative manner. This position may perform duties in the Main Hospital, Ambulatory Care Center, Same Day Surgery Center and/or satellite facilities throughout UC Davis’s Primary Clinic Network as deemed necessary by management. Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) CA Fluoroscopic Permit (required 6 months after hire date) American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS), or UC Davis Health CPR No Minimum Education required No Minimum Work Experience required Knowledge and ability to operate imaging equipment to provide quality images. Must be able to adapt to new programs and equipment upgrades as the radiological field advances. Knowledge of information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities, including symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventive health-care measures. Knowledge of physical principles and applications related to fluids, materials, and mechanical/electrical/atomic processes. Competent in archiving, retrieving and exceptions handling with the PACS system. Ability to administer CPR and to follow rules, protocols, policies and procedures with good judgement. Critical thinking skills and the ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions. Preferred Qualifications
