Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Kirkland, Washington. The position requires strong clinical skills in obstetrics, critical thinking, excellent communication, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of patient safety and professional ethics. Responsibilities
Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with obstetric nursing practices Prepare equipment and assist physicians during labor, delivery, and examination of patients Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence-based protocols Document patient care, assessments, and interventions in the medical record Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures Comply with regulatory standards, including hospital policies, state laws, and federal guidelines Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of labor and delivery nursing Required Qualifications
One year of recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC) NRP Certification Preferred Qualifications
AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification STABLE and ACLS Certifications (AHA/ARC) Other certifications and licenses may be required Essential Skills
Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication Ability to read, write, and communicate in English Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions; PC skills Physical ability to remain in a stationary position, move equipment, push/pull, and bend Ability to work effectively with a variety of personnel with a positive attitude Technical/motor skills to assist with procedures and equipment Ability to cope with stressful situations and manage deadlines; flexibility with schedules Sensory: visual acuity and effective communication Benefits
