UF Health Regional Physician (Primary Care Physician) - UF Health Central Florida (Lake and Marion Counties) – Job No: 531556. Location: Lake. Work Type: Full Time. Department: 29760900 - MD-RPN CENTRAL FLORIDA HEALTH. UF Health Central Florida is a not-for-profit healthcare system serving Lake, Sumter, and Marion counties, providing inpatient hospital services and diagnostic and supportive care across multiple sites. UF Health Central Florida is seeking multiple full-time Primary Care Physicians to provide and manage direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment for a specified patient population.
This physician role covers a full scope of clinical patient care and services within the field of training, including but not limited to diagnosis, treatment, coordination of care, preventative care, and health maintenance for patients at UF Health Regional Network Clinical Sites.
Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with members of the healthcare team including pharmacists, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff.
Review incoming reports (e.g., labs, x-ray, EKG) and follow up in a timely manner.
Prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens appropriate to assessed medical conditions.
Refer patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.
May manage the daily operations of a specific medical program or patient care unit.
Direct and coordinate the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.
Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
Participate in health promotion, education and/or prevention programs as appropriate to the position.
Participate in peer review, quality assurance, provider meetings, and other clinical and operational meetings as requested.
Assist in updating protocols and principles of practice as requested.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements : Licensed to practice medicine in accordance with Chapter 458, Florida Statutes, plus four years of appropriate experience. Completion of a residency program may substitute for the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications : Specialty license or certification; Board Certified or Board Eligible in specified area of medical specialty; Certification/Licensure in the state of Florida and Federal DEA Certification.
