Day to Day
The Senior Civil Engineering Project Manager will help develop livable communities across the country, working on projects from natural surface trails to large arterial multi-use paths, and regional bicycle and trail networks.
Responsibilities include:
Managing transportation projects from design through construction, ensuring project success and managing budgets.
Implementing best practices and process improvements.
Mentoring staff and supporting professional development.
Providing technical leadership and collaborating with other disciplines.
Preparing project schedules, budgets, and scopes of work.
Balancing workload and supporting regional business development.
Ensuring quality control of team deliverables.
Qualifications
Required
12+ years of experience as a Transportation Engineer in consulting or public sector; 5+ years as a Project Manager; 3+ years managing staff.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
PE or TE licensure.
Experience in active, non-motorized transportation and federally funded projects.
Proven ability to prepare plans, specifications, and estimates for roadway projects.
Strong leadership, initiative, and project management skills.
Willingness to travel.
Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD or MicroStation, and project management tools.
Preferred
Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Experience managing large projects for private and public clients.
Experience with Deltek Vision and active participation in professional associations.

Flexible Schedule:
Hybrid work model with most days remote; in-office work in Downtown Durham, near amenities and trails. Compensation:
$120,000–$170,000 annually, based on experience. Benefits:
