Job Details The Electrical Project Manager will oversee electrical projects from estimation through closeout, ensuring operations run smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong communication skills to maintain positive relationships with contractors, clients, and vendors.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution: Develop detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of electrical and specialty construction projects.
Team Leadership: Direct and mentor project teams, including assistant project managers, engineers, and field staff.
Client & Stakeholder Management: Serve as primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
Budget & Cost Control: Oversee financial aspects, including cost estimation, value engineering, and expenditure monitoring.
Quality & Safety Assurance: Ensure compliance with industry standards, local codes, and safety regulations; conduct site inspections and risk assessments.
Pre-Construction Support: Collaborate on design-build and design-assist processes, providing technical input during planning.
Problem Resolution: Identify and mitigate risks, resolving scheduling or technical challenges promptly.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain project records, contracts, change orders, and progress reports; provide updates to leadership and clients as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical project management with a strong construction background.
Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office; familiarity with electrical systems and safety standards.
PMP certification or equivalent is a plus.
Knowledge of electrical codes (NEC) and pre-construction services like value engineering or design coordination.
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Valid driver’s license; Virginia electrical contractor license or journeyman certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
Regular site visits to construction environments; ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Local travel within Sterling, VA region and occasional travel as project needs dictate.
Typical hours: Monday–Friday with occasional evenings or weekends based on deadlines.
