is seeking a dynamic Production Engineer to support our Pasadena, TX location and the Clear Lake, TX site. The role involves monitoring and optimizing medium- to long-term operations for the Bayport area unit. Extensive knowledge of the manufacturing process and applied chemistry is required to ensure sustainable, compliant, high-quality performance. You will analyze and optimize plant performance, monitor data for unit KPIs, and develop front-end engineering scopes of work for capital projects, including leading new product introductions from the manufacturing site. What will be expected from you? Ensure on-time delivery of product by producing on-spec material according to the schedule. Work with R&D departments and operations for successful implementations of new product introductions. Utilize data to drive improvements. Exemplify safety culture and participate in safety initiatives. Track production efficiency, including downtime, cycle times, product yields, material variance, first-pass quality, and lost production volume. Address any gaps that can be resolved without redesign or capital investment. Lead trials of new products once R&D has transferred ownership to the site. Perform capability analysis on product specifications. Identify possible unit improvement projects, collect data to support their development, and forward them to the engineering group for further investigation. Serve as a subject matter expert on ongoing project teams and validate success after projects are implemented. Review the production schedule. Participate in technology transfers. Draft procedures for operations. Provide project support for production units and utilities. Perform data collection of cycle times and OEE. Update Oracle, technical indexes, and LIMS systems. Track efficiency for site utilities. Act as primary support for non-compliance investigations and actions. Serve as the technical representative for process hazard analysis (PHA). Identify and eliminate process wastes. Identify projects that could provide a good return on effort (ROE). Monitor material variance for deviations. Troubleshoot and address process quality issues to ensure high FPQ. Perform capability analysis on new product introductions. Record and investigate recurring quality deviations, collaborating with operations and QC lab to address problems. Manage and optimize all processes under your responsibility with attention to Quality, Legality and Food Safety (where applicable) and client needs on Indorama’s products and services. Ensure all documentation under your responsibility is updated and accessible for consulting. Foster a positive, collaborative environment in the unit. Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth production. Serve as an accessible point of contact and mentor to shift supervisors and operators. Be willing to assist with production issues as they arise. What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?
