Overview The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the facility, including major mechanical systems, fire and life-safety equipment, grounds, parking, lighting systems, plumbing, kitchen equipment, electrical, controls, and other systems and equipment comprising the physical structure and appurtenant infrastructure. The role supports high standards of cleanliness, safety, aesthetics, and guest satisfaction, ensures compliance with staff training/licensure requirements, and assists with general upkeep of the facilities. Execute and influence quality guest service and profitability.

Follow department standards, guidelines and objectives to maintain efficient operations of the Kansas Crossing Facility.

Assist in managing utility expenses through operational efficiencies.

Execute maintenance programs and maintain service records as required.

Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in mechanical or electrical systems such as HVAC, plumbing, kitchen, and other equipment throughout the property.

Maintain the building exterior and curb appeal for snow removal, lawn care, painting, and other actions as directed.

Operate all physical structures and related equipment to contribute to safe and effective facility operations.

Ensure work processes are OSHA and HazCom compliant and follow department MSDS procedures.

Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with the Chief Engineer on work performed.

Respond to radio or other communications regarding complaints/concerns and take appropriate action across departments.

Work efficiently to ensure maximum productivity and guest satisfaction with minimal supervision.

Attend required meetings to obtain and disseminate pertinent information.

Evaluate condition of furniture, fixtures, décor, etc., and make repairs as needed or as directed.

Maintain and operate equipment safely following manufacturer and Facility SOPs.

Represent the company in a gracious, professional, and courteous manner aligned with core values of Fun, Family and Community.

Participate on property Safety Committee as assigned.

Perform other duties as assigned by department or company management.

Working Conditions

Accurately calculate figures and perform mathematical functions applicable to business needs.

Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

Interpret various technical and mathematical formulas and instructions.

Be flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, weekends, and overtime as business needs dictate.

Be physically mobile with ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 50 lbs, and to perform duties in varying work areas including confined spaces.

Job Qualifications Minimum requirements: 18 years of age; at least 3 years in engineering, facility operations or a related area. A combination of vocational education, apprenticeship training, in-plant training, and/or on-the-job training, or an equivalent education/experience is preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to read, analyze, interpret and comprehend technical procedures, government regulations, business materials, instructions, and correspondence; ability to write reports and procedures; and to present information to groups of managers, staff, guests, and the public. Working knowledge of Excel and Word preferred. Attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidential information.

Compliance Responsibilities In addition to other duties, each Team Member has responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:

Attend required training sessions offered by the casino.

Obtain required licenses.

Perform duties in compliance with local laws and regulations.

Ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcohol, or purchase tobacco where prohibited.

Have knowledge of local ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures related to the department.

Know the property’s programs addressing problem gambling.

Maintain written policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure regulatory compliance.

Investigate exceptions, fraud, and potential violations and report to appropriate management.

Report any acts of wrongdoing of which they have knowledge.
