POSITION DETAILS We are seeking a qualified and dedicated part-time General Surgery Physician Assistant to collaborate with our esteemed team of surgeons in providing exceptional patient care. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in assisting with surgical procedures, managing pre-and post-operative care, and contributing to the overall efficiency and excellence of our surgical services.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in Surgical Procedures: Work closely with the surgical team to assist in various general surgery procedures, including but not limited to laparoscopic surgeries, appendectomies, hernia repairs, and colorectal surgeries.
Pre and Post-Operative Care:
Manage pre-operative assessments, including patient history and physical examinations. Provide post-operative care, monitoring patient progress, and collaborating with the surgical team to optimize recovery.
Patient Education:
Educate patients and their families on surgical procedures, post-operative care, and any necessary lifestyle modifications. Ensure clear communication regarding treatment plans and expectations.
Collaboration with Medical Team:
Work collaboratively with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and contribute to a positive and efficient work environment.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, including medical histories, progress notes, and treatment plans, in accordance with established protocols.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
Current state licensure as a Physician Assistant.
Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
Previous experience in general surgery or a related field is preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
RECRUITMENT PACKAGE
$2,500 starting bonus paid in first payroll month
Competitive base salary range $67,638-$77,783
