Salary and Location
Position: Medication Nurse (LVN / LPN). Pay Range: $29 - $32 per hour. Location: Ivy Park at La Palma, La Palma, CA.
Overview Oakmont Management Group and Ivy Living are seeking a dedicated Medication Nurse to supervise and assist in the administration of medications for residents in a senior living community. The role requires a licensed nurse to maintain medication records, coordinate with pharmacies, and support residents in a compassionate, patient-centered environment.

Responsibilities
Perform nursing duties as directed and in accordance with the scope of the Nurse Practice Act, including administering medications and performing treatments as ordered by a physician.
Administer injections, suppositories, enemas, and wound care medications assigned to a Medication Technician.
Coordinate medication services with residents, pharmacy, and physicians.
Order and track all medication changes, refills, and deliveries with pharmacies.
Prepare medication for distribution to residents per company policy.
Assist residents with taking prescribed medications and verify ingestion/application.
Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential resident medication records per company policy.
Keep medicine rooms and carts orderly and stocked, manage inventory and re-order as needed.
Control medication room/cart access at all times and monitor psychotropic medication usage.
Participate in narcotic counts and report discrepancies immediately.
Communicate with physicians, family members, and vendors as needed.
Understand medical abbreviations, symbols, and terms used for medication administration.
Qualifications
Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN) holding a valid California nursing license in good standing.
Prefer one year of experience assisting with medications at a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE).
Knowledge of assisted living and dementia care; ability to interact patiently with cognitively impaired individuals.
Adaptable, able to make decisions in stressful situations, prioritize tasks, and respond to change.
Process information and follow written or oral instructions.
Analyze, solve, and respond to problems or concerns.
Perform moderate math calculations.
Pass a criminal background check and health screening, including TB test.
Compliance with health and safety protocols, including COVID-19 vaccination and PPE use.
