Surgical Services / Operating Room Position Summary Carroll Hospital is currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented

Part-Time Surgical Technologist (Operating Room Technologist - ORT)

to join our Surgical Services team. The ORT will perform scrub tech duties and assist in operative procedures by preparing instruments and supplies, maintaining strict aseptic technique, and supporting surgeons throughout surgical cases in accordance with

AORN standards , hospital policies, and safety-focused care protocols. As a critical member of the surgical team, the ORT ensures proper handling of instruments before, during, and after procedures, and communicates effectively with the surgical team to meet patient needs. Key Responsibilities Prepare sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment prior to surgical procedures. Maintain aseptic technique and sterile field throughout all surgical cases. Anticipate and respond to the needs of the surgeon and surgical team in real time. Ensure proper care, decontamination, and return of surgical instrumentation and equipment. Communicate with team members regarding patient care needs, observations, and findings. Deliver individualized care based on patient conditions and procedural requirements. Support efficient case flow and assist in turnover between cases. Uphold Carroll Hospital’s mission and SPIRIT values (Service, Performance, Innovation, Respect, Integrity, Teamwork). Report to the Clinical Manager of Surgical Services. Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred Experience: 1-3 years of healthcare experience with knowledge of sterile technique required Certifications: CST - Certified Surgical Technologist preferred CPR - AHA Healthcare Provider certification required Why Join Carroll Hospital?
