The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at Mayo Clinic Arizona is recruiting a Transfusion Medicine physician with interest in developing a career at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona. Provide expertise across all aspects of Transfusion Medicine, including immunohematology, transfusion product management, apheresis, stem cell collection and processing, coagulation, and regulatory compliance. Join a growing practice and contribute to patient care, education, and scholarly activities; strong clinical experience and interest in blood banking and apheresis are highly desired. Support a 353-bed tertiary care hospital with services across general adult medicine and specialties (hematology/oncology, transplantation, neurology, cardiology); participate in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows; engage in scholarly activities; undertake leadership roles as needed. Cover after-hours/weekend/holiday on-call activities for therapeutic apheresis, blood bank/transfusion, coagulation services, and the clinical laboratory. Qualifications
MD, DO or equivalent degree Board-certified or board-eligible in clinical pathology and transfusion medicine Eligible for Arizona medical licensure and academic rank at Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine Experience in all aspects of clinical transfusion medicine practice, including immunohematology, transfusion service, cellular therapy, apheresis, and laboratory and clinical coagulation On-call coverage after hours/weekend/holiday for therapeutic apheresis, blood bank/transfusion, coagulation services and the clinical laboratory Exemption Status
