Career Strategy Consultants is seeking a hands-on and strategic Maintenance Manager for a full-time leadership opportunity with a leading manufacturing company in the Pennsauken, NJ area. This individual will oversee the plant’s maintenance operations to ensure optimal performance of facility equipment, systems, and personnel, all while upholding ISO 9001, quality, and safety standards. The ideal candidate is a seasoned maintenance professional with a background in heavy industrial manufacturing, including hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, and preventive/predictive maintenance systems. This role involves both high-level planning and daily operational leadership of a multi-skilled maintenance team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee daily operations of the Maintenance department. Promote and enforce ISO 9001, quality, and safety standards across maintenance activities. Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs across electrical, mechanical, and automated systems. Improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime through strategic planning and KPI-driven performance. Direct root cause analysis, equipment failure investigations, and develop corrective actions. Mentor, train, and supervise maintenance technicians and managers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Develop, implement, and optimize maintenance schedules, budgets, and workflow policies. Monitor machinery, utilities, and facility systems for performance, compliance, and optimization opportunities. Coordinate with engineering and production teams to support project initiatives and capital improvements. Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement practices within maintenance operations. Enforce company safety policies and participate in facility audits and compliance efforts. Technical Expertise Required
Advanced knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, drives, chillers, compressors, and water pumps. Strong understanding of PLC/HMI systems, troubleshooting, and CMMS platforms. Familiarity with industrial control systems, electrical codes, and mechanical system design. Strong project management and planning skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Proven ability to lead maintenance activities in a continuous manufacturing or preferred. Qualifications
5+ years of maintenance experience in a heavy manufacturing environment. 3+ years in a supervisory or management role overseeing maintenance teams. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). Demonstrated success in implementing preventive/predictive maintenance programs. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and maintenance reporting tools. Excellent communication, team-building, and leadership skills. Lean / Continuous Improvement experience strongly preferred. Strong problem-solving, root cause analysis, and decision-making capabilities. Career Strategy
