is currently hiring for a junior Project Scheduler to join our expanding Project Management and Scheduling practice. This position is primarily located on-site with our client in Washington, DC, and is metro accessible.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Qualified candidates must be fluent in the use of Microsoft Project for developing and maintaining individual project schedules and Integrated Master Schedules (IMS).
The candidate should be conversant in EVM terminology, though they are not expected to have experience managing EVM project execution.
Optionally, candidate should have knowledge of MS Project Server.
Support sessions with senior-level clients and work teams to elicit schedule input, monitor and track progress, and support execution of periodic reporting against schedule performance.
Perform rudimentary analytics to support schedule reporting, such as identifying project tasks at risk based on forecast and actual completion, supporting the client’s earned value management process (“EVM light”).
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Participating on a team managing the implementation of a major Federal IT project.
Applying generally accepted scheduling best practices.
Working with stakeholders to identify detailed tasks, durations, dependencies, and resources to build the schedule.
Building a dynamic project schedule with minimal task constraints.
Performing Critical Path Analyses (CPA).
Documenting schedule progress updates and modifications.
Assessing schedule performance and advising the team and client on status and required actions.
Tracking actual vs. planned/forecast vs. baseline.
Creating tracking reports from MS Project for various levels of client management.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree.
2-5 years of experience managing complex integrated master schedules (IMS) with multiple work streams.
Strong skills with MS Project Professional (2013).
Ability to pass client security clearance requirements.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong consulting, communication, and writing skills.
Experience creating and maintaining MS Project schedules with over 1,000 tasks and external dependencies.
Experience scheduling for federal government systems or software programs.
Knowledge of EVM principles; experience with EVM is a plus.
Experience using MS Project Server.
PMI certification (PMP, CAPM, or PMI-SP) is advantageous but not required.
