Shift Details
M-F 8am-5pm
Key Responsibilities
Facilitate patient referrals, including technical and clerical components, insurance authorizations, and scheduling.
Input data into databases and electronic health records for communication across the consortium.
Coordinate and facilitate appointment scheduling.
Provide prompt feedback on care coordination issues and seek assistance when needed.
Maintain electronic patient referral information.
Consult with staff regarding patient eligibility.
Communicate timely updates to patients regarding appointments, scheduling, housing, and travel.
Coordinate patient travel arrangements through SEARHC, the Alaska Tribal Health System, and external agencies, including reservations for air, ferry, lodging, and ground transportation.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred: 2 years of public interaction experience or 1 year in healthcare, or 6 months of healthcare education
Knowledge and Skills
Understanding of tribal health programs, referral processes, and resources
Customer service principles
Data entry, retrieval, and reporting
Effective communication skills
Proficiency with databases and computer software
Ability to multi-task, work independently, and respond quickly in urgent situations
Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
