Children's Wisconsin has an opportunity for a part time Pediatric Nurse on our Imaging team!

Work Schedule: 20 hours per week

What you will do The Imaging Pediatric nurse functions with demonstrated expertise in providing nursing care and/or consultation to the pediatric patients hospital-wide, who are cared for in the imaging department. The nurse is a recognized resource for consultation to nursing and physician services both within CHW and the community. The nurse is also expected to utilize the nursing process to assess patients prior to procedures or scans, prioritizing the need for and providing nursing care to patients undergoing procedures or exam within the Imaging Department. The nurse is expected to function within professional and hospital standards.

What you will need

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an ADN or a BSN in order to meet the recommended entry level for a professional nurse (or equivalent academic and/or professional experience). A BSN is preferred.

A license to practice professional nursing in the State of Wisconsin or must have temporary permit/license to practice professional nursing in the State of Wisconsin.

Knowledge of the principles of neonatal, pediatric and adolescent growth and development and child/family responses to fear, illness, injury and hospitalization.

Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required. Certification in PALS (American Heart Association) within 3 months of hire.

Requires three years nursing experience with a minimum of two years in critical care/emergency room and/or pediatric sedation. An applicant with greater than 10 years of general pediatric experience would also be considered.

Analytical skills to assess complex patient conditions and develop comprehensive plans of care. Ability to synthesize information to address complex problems. Interpersonal and communication skills to interact with interdisciplinary health team members and consumers.

Professional representation of the organization and ability to promote a positive image of the organization and its services. Mental and sensory abilities to read, process, and interpret clinical data.

Flexible hours and on-call availability for Interventional Radiology or MRI to meet patient care needs. Contributes to evaluation of orientation and ongoing staff development needs.

Ability to coordinate and deliver complex care using a multidisciplinary approach. Ability to operate, interpret and troubleshoot a wide variety of patient care equipment.
