System Float Pool - Procedural RN Full Time (days)

Join Houston Methodist’s System Float Pool as a Full‑Time Procedural RN to provide critical‑care nursing across PACU, IR, and Cath Lab locations. The role requires flexible assignment, 8‑12 hour shifts, and availability weekdays and weekends, with occasional on‑call duties for extended assignments. Responsibilities

Deliver direct patient care, including assessments, interventions, medication administration, and advanced life‑support techniques in procedural areas. Act as a procedural RN in a flexible capacity, such as assigning a Cath Lab RN to PACU or IR as needed. Maintain comprehensive patient documentation, collaborate with interprofessional teams, and communicate care plans to patients and families. Serve as a charge nurse or preceptor when assigned, supporting unit leadership and new staff onboarding. Support unit shared‑governance initiatives, quality‑improvement projects, and service‑line or hospital‑wide initiatives. Qualifications

RN license in Texas (must obtain a permanent Texas license within 60 days if establishing residency). BLS basic life support (or instructor) and ACLS advanced cardiac life support (or instructor) certifications. PALS pediatric advanced life support (or instructor) certification. Graduate of an accredited nursing education program. Two years of registered nurse experience in a healthcare environment. Proficiency in English, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced procedural setting. Essential Functions

Utilize therapeutic communication and evidence‑based practice to provide patient‑centered care. Participate in unit or shared governance initiatives and serve as charge nurse or preceptor when required. Contribute to continuous improvement of patient‑satisfaction metrics and quality‑safety outcomes through peer‑to‑peer accountability and data‑driven initiatives. Manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and maintain accurate documentation. Benefits and Working Conditions
