Endeavor Health . Location: Northwest Community Hospital – Arlington Heights, IL | Full Time: 36 hours per week | Hours: Nights, 7pm – 7:30am Hourly Pay Range : $33.16 - $49.74 per hour. The rate is determined by expertise, years of experience, and other factors. What You Will Do
Reporting to the Manager of Respiratory Care, perform, teach, and guide all forms of respiratory therapy, chest physical therapy, and cardiopulmonary diagnostics. Assess and treat patients across age groups from neonatal to geriatric; involve family/guardian in plan of care and provide education as appropriate. Administer respiratory therapies including medical gases, medication delivery via the airways, chest physical therapy, pressure breathing treatments, breathing retraining, aerosols and humidity therapy. Understand equipment, indications, contraindications, hazards, and adverse reactions of each therapy modality. Provide intensive respiratory care using advanced techniques and specialized equipment; establish and maintain airway during CPR. Perform arterial punctures to obtain blood gas samples, analyze blood gases, and perform related calculations and quality control. Perform pulmonary function testing (spirometry, lung volumes, DLCO) and related calculations and quality control. Explain purpose and procedures of treatments, tests, and equipment to patients and families; deliver home care instructions as appropriate. Participate in continuing education within the department. Collaborate with nurses and physicians to optimize patient care; maintain accurate records in patient charts and respiratory care records. Provide guidance to Respiratory Therapy Technicians as needed. Clean, repair, and maintain respiratory therapy equipment; uphold department appearance. In the Director’s absence, may distribute staff assignments, grant overtime, handle absences, authorize equipment rental, and activate disaster plans as necessary. Adhere to hospital standards, policies, and procedures. What You Will Need
Education: Graduate of an AMA approved school for respiratory therapy; eligible to take NBRC exams or be registered/certified by NBRC. Current Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure required. Certification: Current CPR certification. Experience: Advanced knowledge of acid-base balance, blood gas analysis/interpretation, and cardiopulmonary physiology. Benefits
