What you will do
Collects pertinent data and information relative to the patient, situation, or setting.
Analyzes assessment data to determine actual or potential problems, and issues.
Identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or situation.
Develops a collaborative plan encompassing strategies to achieve expected outcomes.
Implements identified plan through coordination of care and employs strategies to promote health and wellness.
Evaluates progress toward attainment of goals and outcomes.
Delivers professional nursing care guided by Jean Watson’s Theory of Human Caring, creating caring relationships and showing unconditional acceptance and respect.
Promotes a mutually respectful environment that supports professional relationships and ethics in practice.
Demonstrates advocacy in all roles and settings.
Practices Diversity, Equity and Inclusion principles in daily work.
Communicates effectively in all areas of professional practice.
Mentors nurses new to their role and supports students to enhance knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Commits to lifelong learning through critical thinking and self-reflection.
Participates and leads nursing practice in the Stormont Vail Health professional practice model.
Utilizes resources to plan, provide, and sustain evidence-based nursing services that are safe and effective.
Education Qualifications
Bachelors of Science: Nursing (BSN) Preferred
Skills And Abilities
Demonstrates awareness and sensitivity to patient/rightsof others as identified by the institution (Required proficiency).
Demonstrates awareness and application of safety issues (Required proficiency).
Understands legal issues in patient care and minimizes risk to patient and institution (Required proficiency).
Competency in psychomotor skills (Required proficiency).
Effective verbal, non-verbal and written communication (Required proficiency).
Ability to perform medication calculations and related mathematical concepts (Required proficiency).
Licenses and Certifications
Registered Nurse - KSBN (multistate license accepted). Required
Basic Life Support - BLS (within 90 days of hire). Required
RQI, CPR or ACLS as required by department

Shift: 12 Hour Night Shift
Hours Per Week: 36
Exemption Status: Non-Exempt
Physical Demands
Balance, lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, walking, and repetitive motions as typical in clinical settings.
Working Conditions
Patient care in behavioral health settings; exposure to infectious diseases and other occupational hazards as noted.
