Job Summary and Responsibilities
Certified Medical Assistant at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health. Sign on bonus available for qualified candidates.
Primarily work in the Cardiovascular Testing Lab (90%) with cross training in the adjoining Cardiovascular Clinic (10%).
Provide technical support for diagnostic, non‑invasive cardiac testing (treadmill tests, ECGs, Holter scans) for inpatient and ambulatory populations.
Under RN supervision, supports treadmill stress testing, patient preparation, test performance, and patient discharge.
Ensures correct lead placement and good lead hookup to support accurate capture of patient’s clinical data.
Operate stress testing equipment in real time during patient test and adjust equipment according to physician orders.
Prepares reports of test results for interpretation by the physician.
Independently performs ECGs, ensuring correct lead placement and screens results for technical quality.
Provides support for VM staff in the use of ECG systems/software and independently applies ambulatory cardiac or blood pressure monitoring device (Zio Patch).
Performs administrative functions in support of the Cardiovascular Lab: schedules patients, prepares billings, and ensures accurate CPT and ICD‑10 coding.
Coordinates and schedules services for patients and providers, maintains provider schedules, and communicates changes.
Provides patient flow and rooming through collecting medical histories, vital statistics, and last visit notes or lab results.
Job Requirements
High School diploma or GED required.
Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant training program required or validation of equivalent military training (Hospital Corpsman).
6 months of Customer Experience required.
Active Washington State Medical Assistant – Certified licensure required; may hold Interim MA‑C with a probationary period to obtain permanent MA‑C licensure within 6 months of hire.
Knowledge of insurance concepts preferred; One year Medical Assistant – Certified experience preferred.
Benefits and Compensation Pay Range: $27.25 – $38.49 per hour. Comprehensive compensation and benefits package. 2x referral bonus.
