Monitors facility clinical systems to facilitate quality resident care in accordance with laws, regulations and facility guidelines. Delivers basic nursing care to residents under care plans as ordered by a physician. Directs and develops RNs, LPNs and CNAs to ensure the delivery of high quality care and services in compliance with laws, regulations and guidelines. Conducts ongoing assessments of residents to identify care needs and revises the care plan based on changes in resident condition. Collaborates with the ADON and DON to resolve grievances or concerns related to resident care or family issues. Documents interventions and resident or family education efforts timely and accurately. Conducts rounds within the nursing department to assess resident conditions and clinical practices. Documents nursing care notes in resident charts in a timely manner. Performs medication administration and IV duties in accordance with the care plan as ordered by a physician. Monitors progress of residents and suggests treatment plan adjustments to meet care needs. Observes resident behavior, vital signs, symptoms and responses to treatment; reports findings to nursing supervisors. Completes resident incident reports upon identifying changes in condition. Monitors residents’ skin to identify risk of pressure sores. Performs a wide variety of nursing administrative duties and maintains inventory as needed. Places medication and refill orders with resident pharmacies as needed. Takes inventory of narcotics and monitors emergency kits. Performs shift change reports with the previous shift nurses and ensures proper follow up. Follows proper procedures for admission, transfer and discharge of residents. May assist in recruitment, selection and orientation of qualified team members for the Nursing Department. Provides expectations and monitors performance of nursing staff. Delegates assignments and provides supervision to RNs, LPNs and CNAs on the nursing unit. Effectively communicates guidelines, on-the-job training and procedures to RNs, LPNs, CNAs, Restorative Aides, residents, families and physicians. Ensures timely responses to call lights and provides personal follow up as needed. Supports team environment through recognition and positive communication with RNs, LPNs and CNAs. Monitors staff schedule adherence for meals, breaks and shift changes, and manages overtime. Monitors job performance and provides corrective action as needed. Unit Manager Requirements

Current LPN or RN license in the state. Up-to-date First Aid and CPR certification. At least one year of experience as an LPN or RN in a long-term care setting (preferred). Knowledge of Matrixcare (preferred). Equal Opportunity Employer
