Overview
Radiology Tech (RAD Tech) – Urgent Care – Anderson role at Bon Secours Mercy Health. The X-Ray Technician performs digital X-ray studies on patients per provider orders. The X-Ray Technician is a multi-skilled clinical professional who works within the scope of practice to assist in patient care under the direction of the provider. Responsibilities
Safely performs provider-ordered radiographic examinations, including proper patient positioning, immobilization, and radiation protection. Sets up and adjusts supportive and immobilization equipment; positions and handles patients with safety and professionalism. Accurately documents patient encounters within the EMR. Determines and selects proper electronic and technical factors to safeguard the patient, x-ray tube, and equipment. Maintains clinical and administrative skills to meet patient care and daily operational needs. May collect patient specimens and run point-of-care laboratory tests. May travel to other facilities for Bon Secours Mercy Health providers or adjust work hours as directed by the manager. Directs and practices sterile technique to prevent cross-contamination. Reports malfunctions, required adjustments, or repairs of equipment to the supervisor. Other duties include but are not limited to ordering supplies, lab/diagnostic tests, patient registration, scheduling, phone triage, cash handling, check-in/check-out and scribing as needed. Licensing, Certification and Education
Certification and Registration with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) – required. State licensure – preferred, unless required by the state where the job is performed. BLS (American Heart Association) – required or as specified upon hire; must obtain prior to direct patient care. Associate’s degree from an ARRT-accredited program – preferred. Experience and Training
1 year of experience in radiation safety and patient care – preferred. Experience with Radiology Information System – preferred. Training in EPIC EHR – preferred; PACS – preferred. Benefits
