Hillcrest Hospital’s Pediatric Emergency Department provides pediatric care in child-friendly spaces. The department is staffed 24/7 with board-certified pediatric emergency medicine physicians, and nurses certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support and pediatric trauma care. The department includes a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) unit for children who are victims of assault, abuse or neglect, along with Child Life Specialists who support children and families. Provide direct nursing care. Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans. Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions. Administer prescribed medications and treatments. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs. Educate patients and their families. Schedule

A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. with every other weekend and holiday rotation requirements. Minimum qualifications

Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC - pediatric) upon hire or within 24 months of beginning work in the Emergency Department Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through the American Heart Association within one year of hire One year of current acute care RN experience OR military RN experience Preferred qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) ICU or critical care experience Pediatric experience PALS through the American Heart Association Physical requirements

Full range of body motion including lifting patients, dexterity, and eye-hand coordination Standing and walking for extended periods Corrected vision and hearing to normal range Ability to work under stressful conditions and irregular hours Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids Medium work with lifting requirements as described Personal Protective Equipment

Follows standard precautions using required PPE Pay range
