role at
Acuity International . This position is contingent upon contract award and will be located onsite in either the southeast, southwest, or central United States. Travel will likely be required. Responsibilities:
Inspect, maintain, adjust, calibrate, and repair electronic, electromechanical, and hydraulic equipment, including patient monitors, defibrillators, medical imaging equipment (X-rays, CT scanners, ultrasound), voice-controlled operating tables, electric wheelchairs, and other medical devices. Perform routine maintenance and safety checks; train practitioners on equipment operation. Disassemble equipment to diagnose malfunctions; repair or replace parts; reassemble and calibrate. Report uncorrectable malfunctions to manufacturers/distributors for repair. Maintain detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and inventory. Work near patients with minimal disturbance; document all work performed. Participate in meetings and task forces to improve quality and stay updated on new developments. Follow the American Hospital Association's Bill of Rights for patients. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years' experience as a Biomedical Equipment Technician. Diploma, certificate, or associate degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology or Engineering; military technical training (e.g., 4A2X1, 68A, HM-8478) also acceptable. Experience with CT scanners and similar sophisticated equipment. Ability to work independently and in team settings; maintain professionalism. Proficiency with computers and MS Office. Flexibility to adapt to shift changes and operational needs. Strong problem-solving skills. US citizen or permanent resident residing in the US for at least 3 of the past 5 years. Preferred: Current DHS clearance, bilingual in Spanish and English. Physical Requirements & Work Conditions:
