Position:
Full-time, 36 hours, night shift About the Unit: Oncology is a 24-bed, all-private unit dedicated to holistic care of cancer patients and their families. This environment fosters the development of critical thinking skills and comprehensive assessments, including care and administration of chemotherapy, pain management, and specialized cancer treatments. A basic understanding of dysrhythmias is required for patients requiring cardiac monitoring. A multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses, dietitians, social workers, and massage therapists supports the oncology patients. New graduate nurses are welcome. Job Duties: The Oncology Nurse assesses patient needs and implements appropriate interventions. They establish and maintain a care plan, ensuring interventions address patient problems, and perform technical care competently. Oncology nurses must possess strong critical thinking skills and provide compassionate care. They also act as resources for patients and families, guiding them through all stages of the cancer journey.
