EO/AA Clinical pharmacists implement medication therapy for patients and monitor care, ensuring safe, effective, and cost-efficient treatment. This includes medication preparation, participation in drug distribution, monitoring drug therapy, providing drug information to patients and providers, offering clinical pharmacy services, and solving medication-related problems. Clinical pharmacists must work effectively as team members, communicate clearly and professionally with patients, families, staff, and vendors, and be willing to train department trainees (students, interns, residents, or new staff). Responsibilities
Responsible for the medication use process, including preparing and dispensing medications following policies, laws, regulations, and standards. Solve problems in medication use for patients and the organization. Assess appropriate drug information and literature resources, providing effective information to diverse audiences including patients, healthcare professionals, and peers. Identify and engage in quality improvement activities to enhance patient care, medication use, and pharmacy operations. Supervise daily workflow to accomplish tasks, overseeing technicians, residents, students, or interns. Educate and train residents, students, interns, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals, supervising trainees in their tasks. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Ability to perform essential functions as outlined in the job description. Willingness to train department trainees. Ability to assess patient data and provide appropriate care per departmental policies. Knowledge to provide age-appropriate care for patients. Understanding of lifespan growth and development principles. Qualifications
Advanced degree (PharmD or MS) or equivalent clinical experience. Effective communication and computer literacy skills. Additional qualifications may include life-support training, residency, or certifications depending on the area of work. Licenses
Current licensure to dispense controlled substances in Utah. Either a current time-limited license or a full pharmacist license in Utah. *Additional license requirements may be determined by the hiring department. Preferred Qualifications
PGY2 residency training in hematology/oncology. Working Conditions and Physical Demands
Must meet physical requirements, including lifting up to 20 pounds, standing for extended periods, and other physical activities as listed. Seniority level
