Field Engineer
Hanwha Qcells USA Corp (QcellsUSA) is a global leader in utility‑scale solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects. QcellsUSA delivers turnkey solutions across the entire utility‑scale lifecycle, from engineering and procurement to construction (EPC) services. The Field Engineer supports on‑site construction teams to ensure project delivery standards of excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate directly with the Solar Superintendent and project managers to implement project goals.
Assign and oversee project tasks, ensuring timely execution and coordination with construction management.
Maintain project schedules, including a 3‑week look‑ahead and weekly project meetings.
Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to secure materials and equipment.
Communicate project status, delays, and issues to leadership and clients.
Oversee safety inspections, tool management, drawing review, and electronic submittals.
Identify punch list items, maintain crew production schedules, and lead toolbox talks.
Complete all tasks assigned by the Regional Manager efficiently and in a timely manner.
Essential Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.
Experience in the construction industry; proficiency with Microsoft Suite.
Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work proactively with a passion for efficient project execution.
Familiarity with standard project management concepts and procedures; experience with Procore is a plus.
Physical Demands
Climb ladders, scaffolding, and stairways; work in confined spaces.
Stand or walk for long periods; work extended hours on uneven surfaces.
Carry tools and materials up to 50 lbs; lift items over 50 lbs with assistance.
Maintain full range of motion and flexibility consistent with job duties.
Work Environment
Regular professional office setting or moderate to high noise levels on construction sites.
Predominantly outdoor, exposure to extreme weather, high humidity, rain, and chemical substances.
Potential exposure to hazardous equipment and noise from tools and machinery.
Mobility and Climate
Uneven ground level, obstructed pathways, work performed at low and high elevations, and confined areas.
Predominantly outdoor climate; exposure to extreme hot or cold weather; excessive humidity, rain, and potential chemical exposure.
