Field Engineer – Qcells EPC (Hanwha Qcells USA Corp) – Houston, TX

Overview Qcells USA is a leading solar EPC that delivers turnkey utility‑scale projects, including modules and battery energy storage. The Field Engineer supports project execution on the job site, providing logistical, technical, and supervisory assistance to construction teams.

Responsibilities

Coordinate engineering requests and resolve on‑site issues for project personnel.

Procure trade‑specific materials, manage permits, and ensure compliance with project timelines.

Maintain documentation: reports, drawings, inspection records, and change orders.

Assist superintendents with daily staffing, equipment, and material tracking.

Develop and execute project schedules, conduct quality control checks, and perform regular inspections.

Lead safety initiatives: conduct hazard analyses, enforce safety practices, and support training.

Create trade‑specific training and inspection plans; support third‑party relationships.

Attend technical meetings, take minutes, and perform additional duties as directed.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, project management, or related field.

Minimum 4 years of field experience (2 years of education may be credited as 1 year of experience).

Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Demonstrated ability to support development, planning, installation, and execution of EPC projects.

Excellent written and verbal communication; fluent in English.

Willingness to travel up to 100% and work weekends/overtime as required.

Capacity to multitask and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.

Location Industrial construction sites and/or fabrication shops in the Houston, TX area.

Mobility / Site Conditions

Uneven ground, obstructed pathways, high/low elevations, confined areas.

Predominantly outdoor; exposure to extreme heat or cold, humidity, rain, noise, chemicals.

Work may involve hazardous equipment.

Employment Details Full‑time, exempt, project‑site based. Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Local time; overtime and weekend work may be required.
