Quality Engineer
to join our Delphos, OH location. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a team environment and can make lasting and positive changes in our team. Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions
Oversee and direct quality activities in the area of capability studies, dimensional checks, material testing, product inspection, print changes, and process/product documentation to obtain optimum productivity and quality levels while complying with customer specifications. Provide quality support to internal and external customers; document processes, procedures and equipment; coordinate completion of all quality function tasks and resolution of quality issues in a timely and robust fashion. Support New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from final design release through Job #1; provide technical quality support to the customer. Lead efforts to achieve premium levels of customer satisfaction through operator awareness, inspection programs, audits, continuous improvements, and customer visits for monitoring and feedback. Aim to achieve product target cost, efficiency, and quality for existing products. Lead the plant in customer satisfaction, PPM reduction, and quality system development; report to the Quality Manager and participate as a Launch team member. Support multiple projects and maintain third-party registration to IATF 16949 standards; pursue customer quality awards and certifications. Job Functions:
Support project launch strategy and identify open item issues Support project timelines and pre-production builds requiring components/services from the manufacturing site Develop processes, establish process documentation and controls, and identify plant training needs for new projects Assist with training of production personnel on processing and quality standards Ensure product conformance to customer engineering standards Coordinate problem solving of quality issues; review supplier performance and PPAP submissions Monitor customer concerns/rejections during pre-production and after Job #1 Perform capability studies using gauges, measurement equipment, statistical analysis, and problem-solving investigations Work with tool and part suppliers on PPAP requirements and submissions; review and approve supplier PPAP packages Support IATF 16949, APQP and PPAP elements; conduct Gage R&R studies and certifications Assist Engineers in developing FMEA and process flowcharts; establish process controls for new projects Maintain quality documentation (PFMEA, flow charts) and PPAP booklets; support PPAP submittals with Engineers Develop and maintain quality technician and inspector assignments; manage internal and external databases (8Ds, Process Alerts, Rejections) Qualifications Desired
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a technology or engineering discipline At least 5 years of quality experience in a similar role 3 years of auditing experience Injection mold experience preferred Strong communication skills; ability to handle difficult situations calmly and efficiently Strong problem-solving capabilities Ability to analyze and utilize data to make informed decisions What we can provide you
